ECU Unlocking Process – Required for All BMW G-Series Models
For BMW G-Series models, including M3 & M4 (G80/G81/G82/G83), the ECU is locked from the factory and must be unlocked before tuning.
🔓 ECU Unlocking with Femto Service:
- Your ECU will be removed and sent to Femto in Finland for unlocking.
- This process takes up to 5 working days, including postage via DHL Express.
- Note: Any lost or missing ECU parcels are at the customer’s risk, as we cannot warrant missing items with DHL. However, we will assist in advising on the next steps if any issue arises.
Once the ECU is unlocked, we install our custom tuning software at Onyx Performance, delivering significant power and torque improvements.
